Response: Continuing research in weight loss and weight management in those who are severely obese is vital to assuaging the obesity epidemic in the United States. Our study will next look at longer-term results (18-24 months). Additionally, diversifying the sample and enlarging the sample size to allow the results to fit a greater range of participants would be necessary to create generalizable recommendations. However, this initial study demonstrates promising results.
